Engine
General Stock Rover 4.0 liter (from a 2000 Discovery)
Aspiration Stock Bosch / Lucas hot wire fuel injection from a 3.9L engine.
Air cleaner The air cleaner was made by K & N for V6 dirt track race cars. I cut a hole in the radiator mount in order to have cooler air reach the plenum.
Ignition Stock 2000 Bosch distributorless ignition system.
Plug wires 8mm high performance wires.
Exhaust Will be mild steel RV8 style headers, with a ceramic coating.
Starter high-torque gear reduction compact starter. This is the only starter I found that fit. I bought it from www.Britishstarters.com
Oil/Filters I am running a Wix brand remote oil filter kit that just spins onto the Buick 231 V6 oil pump base. I mounted the filter in the passenger side inner wheel well. I is out of the way and easy to access. I added the oil cooler to help cool the engine. The oil cooler dropped the engine temp by 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
Oil pump Stock 2000 4.0 crank driven oil pump

Plenum Modifications I decided to modify the plenum cover and ram pipe manifold after starting to make a bulged hood. After starting on the hood I decided it would be easier to cut the plenum down and keep the original MGB hood. I found that I needed 1 3/4" to clear the hood, so I cut 2" out of the plenum, and ram pipe manifold. The pictures show what I did pretty clearly. I have not seen this done in such a way before, but It should work well. I cut a new lid out of a 1/4" piece of aluminum and had it welded to the plenum. I also had to shorten the ram pipes to clear the new lowered plenum. I milled 11/16" out of the bottom of the ram pipe housing. I also had to machine the flange where the vacuum lines attach buy 1/4". I relocated the vacuums using new nipples. I milled 1 1/8" out of the top of the plenum. With all this modifying I was able to fit the fuel injection under the Original hood with a quarter inch to spare.
