Over the next year or so, I will be chronicling the construction of my second
MGB V8. The donor car is a green 1977 MGB that is in fair shape. The
conversion was started a year ago and the rear axle had already been installed
when the job was given to me. In this conversion I will be using a 4.0L
Rover engine out of a 2000 Discovery. I will also be utilizing the
engine's DIS (distributorless ignition system) and front cover. The fuel
infection will be the old 3.9L hot wire style. I am planning on using a
Ford Mustang T5 transmission and already have a three speed 215 bell housing.
The rear end is a Ford 7.5 inch with 3.08 gears, limited slip, and disc brakes.
